Japanese Showa Six Panel Screen Autumn Ducks and Songbirds


Serene, large Japanese Showa period six-panel byobu screen depicting a waters edge with ducks and song birds in a late summer autumn landscape. Beautifully painted flowering bush clover, Chinese bellflower, chrysanthemum, omineashi, rose of sharon, and lily decorate the landscape. Ink and natural color pigments on hand-crafted mulberry paper set in a black lacquered frame with a silk border. Painted in the Nihonga School style with an aged patina that has a desirable faded finish.
