Captivating Japanese Showa period four panel byobu screen depicting the three friends of winter. Pine, prunus, and bamboo with songbirds in a spring lakeside idyllic landscape. Made in the Nihonga School style with ink and natural color pigments on gilt paper. Signed by artist Kyoka with a seal on the left side. Set in a black lacquer wood frame with a silk brocade border. Very good condition with strong joinery. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
