Extraordinary Japanese late Meiji period four panel screen depicting colorful chrysanthemums growing along a brushwood fence. The screen features extensive moriage (raised pigment) decoration on the fence and flowers that are difficult to appreciate in photos. Crafted with ink and color pigments on silver leaf squares with a beautifully aged patina. Made in the Nihonga school style late 19th-early 20th century. Set in an ebonized wood frame with a silk brocade border. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
