Japanese Korean Meiji Period Five-Panel Screen


Late 19th-early 20th century five-panel painted screen. Meiji period paintings from Japanese occupied Korea depicting scenes of horses, cranes, fish, flowering vases, and a fisherman. Mounted on wood with silk borders and lined on the back with grasscloth. Lovely vintage patina with fading and stains on handmade paper. Each panel is signed with a seal in Chinese and has poetic inscriptions.

Condition: Distressed, minor wear consistent with age and use. Panels are faded, stained, and have a distressed finish. Lined on back with grasscloth.
