Japanese Four-Panel Screen 53 Stations of Tokaido


Colorful Japanese four-panel table screen depicting oiso from the 53 stations of Tokaido. Idyllic seascape painting ink and color on gold silk. Nihonga School executed in the Ukiyo-e manner after Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858) sign and seal on bottom right seiho. Set in a black lacquer frame with a silk brocade border.

Condition: Good, minor wear consistent with age and use. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with age appropriate wear.
