Early 19th century Japanese Edo period four-panel table screen depicting a spring landscape with Chinese scholars seated in a pagoda pavilion. Painted with ink and natural color pigments on tarnished silver leaf. Set in a lacquered frame with a silk brocade border. The delicate landscape has later applied gold flecks. The spring setting of this painting has beautifully faded into a warm fall colored patina with rich reds and browns. From a collector in San Francisco, CA.
