French Neoclassical Louis XVI Style Pine Bookcase Display Cabinet


Magnificent French bookcase or display cabinet crafted in the neoclassical Louis XVI taste. The two-part case features extensive relief carved decoration with an oak foliate and acorn motif. Constructed from pine with a cerused or white washed finish and intentionally distressed patina on the pine. The top case has a corniced top and is fronted by two large doors having beveled glass opening to a mirrored interior having three thick adjustable glass shelves (pictured with only 2). The bottom case opens to a large two-shelf storage area. Provenance: From the estate of June Ebensteiner Westlake Village, CA.

Condition: Good, minor wear consistent with age and use. Age appropriate wear with an aged, distressed patina on the finish as seen in photos. Minor losses on carvings. Mirror is not present on the interior right panel and shelf.
