French Louis XVI Style Marble Top Mahogany Commode Chest


Grand French Louis XVI style mahogany commode or chest of drawers featuring a variegated marble top. The conforming marble top is 1 inch thick with a dramatic ebony black ground. The commode was constructed on a grand scale measuring almost 40 inches high and over 48 inches wide. The case is fronted by four large storage drawers with patinated brass bail pulls, ribbon swag escutcheons, and brass border trim. The front corners have neoclassical bronze mounted columns that are fluted and supported with large brass mounted dart shaped legs ending with brass sabots. The case showcases the radiant mahogany woodgrains and rich finish. Beautifully crafted from an estate in Beverly Hills, CA.
