French Louis XVI Style Carrara Marble Top Mahogany Commode

Opulent French mahogany commode or chest of drawers featuring a dramatic white Carrara marble top. Beautifully crafted in the grand Louis XVI neoclassical taste. The case is fronted by three large storage drawers having bronze borders and square bail pulls. Each drawer is centered by a brass cartouche lock plate with functioning hardware and original keys. The drawers slide flawlessly and the case has a tidy fit and finish. The front corners have decorative fluted pilasters with bronze mounts and conjoin to tapered, fluted legs ending with brass sabots. The marble is 1 inch thick and has round conforming front corners. The chest has amazing attention to detail with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The case is large measuring nearly 4 feet wide. The rich finish showcases the radiant mahogany woodgrains throughout. This is one of nicest examples we have come across with an ideal combination of finishes.
