Rare and unique metamorphic library step chair featuring hand-carved dolphin arm supports in a neoclassical taste. This solid colonial chair opens to four steps with a 30" height and a 39" length. It features a decorative burl wood seat and an intricate pierced back with a small storage shelf under the seat. The curved frame gives it a Regency style profile while the arms and legs are accented with scroll ends and carved foliate detail. The wood appears to be birch, and has a warm rich finish.
