Dramatic Chinese export six-panel folding coromandel style floor screen featuring an idyllic landscape with exotic and mythical birds. The lacquered panels are intricately painted with an amber or burnt orange tone over a black ground with a gloss finish. The screen is signed on the right side with a seal and has a decorative geometric lattice border. The opposite side has very subtle gilt bamboo and flowers over a black ground. The screen is supported by square legs with patinated brass clad feet. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
