Fantastic Chinese export eight panel coromandel screen featuring a dramatic Imperial palace in gilt with a coral red background. Black lacquered panels incised with gilt depicting figures engaged in leisurely activities around an Imperial court palace. The scene has a dragon motif border and each is mounted to brass casters. The rare background color gives the room a strong focal point and anchor. The reverse side has stark flora and fauna decorations. Remarkable screen in rare color and finishes.
