Fantastic chinoiserie hand painted bookcase or display cabinet by Baker Furniture Co. Finished in French provincial yellow lacquer with idyllic scenes of birds, pagodas, and Asian villagers. Fronted by a large glass door with period correct hardware and skeleton key. The interior is fitted with two glass shelves and one bottom shelf. The front of the cabinet is decorated with a geometric design border. The sides have glass windows. The interior is lighted on both sides with an external control switch. Very rare early chinoiserie piece by Baker.
