19th Century Swedish Gustavian Style Pine Library Bibliotheque Bookcase
Grand 19th century Swedish Gustavian style library bibliotheque two-part bookcase cabinet crafted from pine. The upper case features a large corniced gable roof decorated with acanthus scrolls. Fronted by four large doors with chicken wire windows opening to a large six shelf interior. The lower sideboard has matching doors with wire windows opening to a large storage area with pigeon hole cubbies. The case has a beautifully aged patina on the faded dove grey painted finish. The front is decorated with pilaster columns having carved acanthus and rosettes. The neoclassical Gustavian design is blended with a more informal farmhouse style that adds character and charm to the library. Impressive statement piece made on a grand scale over 10 feet high.
