19th Century Heywood Wakefield Wicker Platform Rocker


Late 19th century Victorian wicker platform rocker made by Heywood Brothers who eventually became the Heywood Wakefield Company. Unique fluid design with Art Nouveau influences. Constructed with delicate fancy work decorative scrolls and chain patterns. The arms and legs are made of thick braids of wicker with round finial tops and feet. The back has an open fretwork design on the splat. Beautifully faded and fully functioning with signs of age.

Condition: Fair, Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading. Shows signs of age with a faded patina, minor losses, but fully functioning and shows well.
