19th Century French Oak Butcher Block Work Table

Monumental mid-19th century French butcher block work table or kitchen island constructed from handcrafted oak. Features later added travertine slabs over the worn cutting block top. The travertine is easily removed for a more rustic presentation. Made with iron studs and iron wrapped corners. The front has a carved and pierced decorative apron and turned wood legs in the Classic Louis XVI taste. The heavy wood top has a wonderful curve from use. There are two large storage drawers with iron pulls in front and one small drawer on the top right side. This would look amazing topped with a new piece of Calacatta or Carrara marble. From a grand estate in Santa Barbara, CA.
