Gorgeous 19th century French Louis Philippe period petite writing table or desk. The table features a solid and strong fruitwood frame decorated on the top, sides, and frieze with mahogany and satinwood cross-banding and line inlay. Fronted by a large single storage drawer measuring 38 inches wide. The desk measures 24 inches from the floor to the apron for ample legroom. The case is supported by square tapered legs with a turned top. The legs are conjoined by an H shaped stretcher. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with attention to detail in this impressive example of Louis Philippe neoclassical design. From an estate in Bel Air, CA.
