19th Century French Louis Philippe Writing Table Desk


Handsome 19th century French writing table or desk made in the Louis Philippe period from chestnut. The desk features a large top with an ogee border showcasing the rich chestnut wood grain patterns. The case has a single drawer and is constructed with wood peg joinery. Supported by elegant turned legs conjoined by an H shaped stretcher. The legs end with tapered toupie feet. Ample legroom measuring 24 inches from the floor to the apron. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with a beautiful patina on the wood. From an estate in Napa Valley, CA.
