Rustic 19th century French Louis Philippe writing table or desk featuring a painted or waxed canvas writing surface. The table is crafted from an oak top inset with a unique black painted canvas writing surface and supported by a fruitwood case having a single storage drawer in the frieze. Made in a low style measuring 21.5 inches from the floor to the apron. The table is supported by beautifully turned, and fluted legs ending with peg feet. The woods have a lovely aged patina and soft warm finish. The table could be raised by adding 2, 2.5" inch casters on the bottoms of the legs. Distinctive desk with a handsome profile and desirable aged patina.
