19th Century English Iron Bronze Industrial Davenport Desk


Rare 19th century English Industrial period davenport desk. Made from thick iron with bronze legs and campaign style handles on the drawers. The locking slant lid opens to reveal a large storage area with pigeon holes and two storage drawers. The case also has traditional storage on the right side. Consisting of one locking drawer and one locking door with a set of four smaller drawers inside. The front of the desk is 31 inches high and supported by large turned bronze legs ending with iron ball feet. All locks have original skeleton style working keys. The desk is very heavy and solid with a unique profile and rich patinated metal finish that still has old blue paint remnants. Impressive piece of functioning history.
