19th Century Chinese Qing Four-Panel Coromandel Screen


Fascinating 19th century Chinese Qing dynasty lacquered four panel folding coromandel screen. The front depicts Chinese celestial figures in idyllic settings bordered by dragons, mythical beasts, and scholars objects. The scene is separated by geometric Greek key motif borders. Beautifully faded patina of dark red claret color background with lighter faded colors painted on each panel. The back side is decorated with ancient Chinese script and symbols in rows. Supported by small straight legs.
