18th Century Venetian Neoclassical Parade Chair or Kings Chair


Majestic 18th century Venetian parade procession chair also known as a kings chair, sedan chair, throne chair, or litter. Made to be mounted on poles and carried by porters in front and behind. Constructed in the neoclassical taste with elaborate decoration and swag with a gilt gesso finish. The crest of the chair has an iron flag pole on each side for banners. Several old repairs with a gorgeous distressed finish and faded gilt patina.

Dimensions: 22.5"w x 19"d x 46"h, Seat 16"h

Materials: Wood, Gesso, Iron

Condition: Distressed, minor wear consistent with age and use. Good joinery with a lovely distressed finish and gilt fade. Several old repairs.
