18th Century Country English Oak Welsh Dresser with Cupboard

Imposing late 18th century country English Georgian period welsh dresser with cupboard and pot rack. Crafted from oak with a corniced top and supported by tall, narrow locking cupboards on each side. The storage cabinets are conjoined by three plate rack shelves. The large dresser has four generous storage drawers with patinated brass swan neck pulls. The dresser is supported by five square legs that appear to have been shortened or cut down so the height of the dresser is now 29.5 inches. The lower height allows an eye-level display are for viewing. The plate rack sits on top of the dresser and should be attached to a wall for stability. Beautifully crafted from rich oak with a dark finish that showcases the lovely woodgrains. Old repairs with a desirable aged patina. Provenance: From the estate of artist Ira Yeager (American 1938-2022) Calistoga, CA.
