18th Century American High Back Windsor Chair


Rare and unusual American high back or comb back windsor chair with a ten spindle back support. Featuring graduated orb arm supports and matching legs with intricate round turnings. The chair has a unique profile with splayed legs in the rear and arm supports that angle back. The arms, seat, and crest rail all measure 23.5" wide. The original paint is worn through in several places and has a rich patina. The seat is "D" shaped and made of a thick plank and the legs have a peg shaped foot.

Condition: Distressed, Good. Minor wear consistent with age and use. Some older repairs and a rich worn finish.
