Magnificent set of four mahogany dining armchairs hand-crafted for the historic 19th century City of Paris department store in San Francisco, CA. Beautifully constructed in the grand French Louis XVI taste featuring hand carved frames with a dramatic square back and generous seats. The padded arms measure 26 inches high and gracefully conjoin to the seat. The molded frame is decorated with carved rosettes on the front of the apron. The faux leather naugahyde upholstery is bordered with brass tack nail heads. The seats are supported with fluted and tapered legs ending with toupie feet. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with a classic French profile from a famous department store with a fascinating history. Original labels on bottoms of seats. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
