Distinctive pair of rattan library armchairs made in the California coastal organic modern style by McGuire artisans. The chairs feature a pole rattan frame with a custom ordered cerused or glazed finish. The rattan is reinforced on the exposed joints with cream colored leather rawhide laces. The generous seat has an open fretwork design of pole rattan around the sides and has fitted seat cushions in a stylish mohair velvet fabric. The flat arms measure 24.5 inches high. McGuire makers plaques on bottoms of seats. From an estate in San Francisco, CA. Sold as a pair. The chairs are sturdy and strong with excellent joinery and craftsmanship in very well preserved condition.

Condition: Good, wear consistent with age and use. Beautifully crafted with strong solid joinery and construction. Age appropriate wear with minor fading and indentations on the vintage fabric as seen in photos. Very minor scuffs on finish that is difficult to see.
