Heywood Wakefield American Misson Wicker Rattan Library Table


Rare American Mission library table made in the Aesthetic Movement arts and crafts style. Attributed to Heywood Wakefield early 20th century. Constructed from a bent rattan frame covered with woven and braided wicker and topped with an oak desktop. The table has a two-tier design with decorative wicker apron and borders. Supported by round rattan legs ending with splayed feet. The natural wicker has a subtle gilt finish, probably done at a later date. Rare and unusual table made with a dining or desk height. From an estate in Santa Barbara, CA.
