French Neoclassical Style Faux Marble Console by Ira Yeager

Opulent French console table featuring a painted faux-marble top lacquered by artist Ira Yeager (American 1938-2022). Made in the grand French Louis XVI taste with a bronze verdigris green finish accented by parcel gilt embellishments. The shaped frieze is fronted by two small storage drawers and a large center drawer having patinated brass ring pulls. Decorated with gilt rosettes and swag on the drawer fronts. The large base has curved demilune ends supported by Louis XVI style gracefully curved legs with gilt bell flowers down the center. The legs are conjoined with matching parcel gilt stretchers. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with an intentionally aged patina on the finish. Dramatic profile that could also serve as a sideboard buffet or server. Provenance: Purchased from the Yager Gallerie in Calistoga, CA.
