19th Century Chinese Eight-Panel Coromandel Screen


Huge eight-panel Coromandel screen featuring social gatherings of musicians, elephants, and people around pagodas. Made of heavy, solid rosewood and carved from thick layers of lacquer. Double sided with the front having a dragon border and scholars objects along the bottom. The reverse side depicts landscapes with cranes. Sits on brass protected feet. Lovely patina on the vintage lacquer with dark red wear spots on the finish.
