Jean-Paul Gaultier Mah Jong Sofa by Hans Hopfer for Roche Bobois

$24,800.00

An iconic and chic Jean Paul Gaultier edition Mah Jong modular sectional sofa designed by Hans Hopfer (Germany b. 1931) for Roche Bobois. The dramatic 21st century sofa features exclusive fabrics designed by Jean Paul Gaultier in the 2000s. Designed in France and hand-made in Italy, the sofa set consists of 13 pieces. 8 square pillows, 2 corner supports, 1 back support, and 2 accent pillows. The sofa offers infinite design possibilities in a chic mosaic of color, tapestry, texture, and painted designs. The upholstery blends several unique Gaultier motifs: crisp sailor-style stripes, scrolling tattoo-like line-work, ivory tufted panels, blush pink borders, pastel floral rose compositions, and ombré bands fading from ivory into charcoal. Each cushion is entirely constructed and sewn by hand in a dedicated workshop. The sofa fabric has age appropriate wear with light fading and minor stains which are difficult to see because of the intentionally faded and aged patina done by the designer. Measurements taken as seen in photo #1. The grand sofa is located at our Northern California warehouse available for delivery and installation. Sold as a 13 piece set.
