Grand country English Victorian period garden bench featuring cast iron faux bois legs. The legs are conjoined by wood slats having an ergonomic gracefully curved seat. The iron has a weathered patina on the painted finish with thick, chippy paint and craquelure. The wood slats have a desirable, aged patina with fading and lichen. The design has a distinctive style with thick iron that resembles white coral. The arms once had wood armrests that have been removed. Very heavy and solid bench with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The country aesthetic works well with the aged, weathered patina. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
