Pair of Neoclassical Louis XVI Lacquered Pub or Bistro Doors


Remarkable pair of French Louis XVI style lacquered pub, cafe, or bistro doors. Hand-carved in the neoclassical taste featuring laurel wreaths and ribbon swag decorations. Each door has a glass window with a small 2" inch shelf on each side. The doors are painted with a vintage black lacquer that has a beautiful worn patina. Each side is fitted with antique patinated brass handles and painted kick plates.

Provenance: These doors graced the entrance of Zinc Cafe and Market in Laguna Beach, CA. These French doors have je ne sais quo that comes from old world construction and time.

Condition: Distressed, wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Beautifully distressed patina with a worn lacquer finish.
