Pair of Moorish Geometric Mother-of-Pearl Inlaid Drink Tables
$3,800.00
A exceptional pair of Middle Eastern Moorish side or occasional tables clad in dense inlaid mosaic parquetry. Each table features a circular top decorated with an intricate tessellated field of interlocking polygons and rosettes, framed by concentric borders of geometric panels and banded stringing. The patterned tops rest on a tripod support base consisting of elegantly curved leg uprights. The tables are supported by a stepped hexagonal plinth base. Executed in a warm hardwood creating a delicate contrast with the dark wood and mother-of-pearl tesserae. The tables have an authentic weathered and aged patina, with pleasing minuscule variations inherent to a handcrafted piece. Usable as side tables, drinks tables, occasional tables, end tables, or accent pieces. Minor losses to the parquetry that are difficult to see. Sold as a pair. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
