Stunning pair of late 19th century French fauteuil armchairs made in the grand Louis XVI taste. The chairs feature fine, highly carved giltwood frames embellished with rope, bead, and rosette decoration and topped with floral ribbon crests on the oval seat backs. Newly upholstered with an organic linen fabric. Supported by tapered, fluted legs ending with toupie feet. Graceful and elegant with an iconic French profile. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with a beautiful aged patina on the finish. From an estate in Bel Air, CA.
