Impressive Japanese six-panel Edo period (late 18th-early 19th century) screen of two immortals Hotei and Jurojin. Depicted in a pine tree landscape playing with five children. Jurojin (God of Longevity) is shown with a deer behind him and a crane. Ink and color pigments on paper with gold flecks added and set in a lacquered frame with silk border. Maruyama Shijo School with fascinating detail. From an estate in Bel Air, CA.

Condition: Distressed, minor wear consistent with age and use. Good joinery that shows beautifully with light staining, old repairs and losses on back as seen in photos. Lovely aged distressed finish. Age appropriate wear and fading.
