Cassina Soriana Mohair Sofa designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa
$12,000.00
An iconic labeled Italian modern "Soriana" sofa, made by Cassina and designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa. The 20th century sofa features the iconic "soft-architecture" construction, consisting of a large plush mohair cushion cinched and cradled by exposed chrome-plated steel clamps, creating a dramatic and luxurious silhouette. The continuous rods and loops give the sofa the effect as if it's been belted in place. The sofa rests on low round wood feet, giving a subtle floating effect. The upholstery is finished in an opulent blue/green teal mohair with a rich light-catching nap. The low, generous cushioning and broad, rounded arms create a dramatic statement piece, blending Modern, Mid-Century, and European Postmodern styles. The sofa is in exceptional well preserved condition as seen in photos. Original Cassina Made in Italy tag underneath. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
