18th Century New England Cherry Daybed or Rope Bed


Charming late 18th century New England cherry daybed or rope bed made in the Federal style and period. Features a newly upholstered frame with a blue and white ticking stripe and rope with a nautical theme. Excellent joinery with wood peg construction and reinforced with iron. The bed is supported by round peg legs and has a flat headboard on one end. The new upholstery covers a thick, fitted cushion and the rope is for decorative purposes only never having to be tightened again. The antique wood has a lovely aged patina.
