Rare campaign style officer's chair or sling chair designed in the mid-century by Eleanor Forbes for McGuire. The chair features a cube-shaped oak frame reinforced with leather rawhide laces on the exposed joints. The frame is fitted with two printed canvas slings having a mid-century modern design floral motif with colorful yellow and orange flowers. The chair has a back that tilts with patinated brass hardware. The unique chairs were designed by Eleanor who was the head of Gump's interior design in San Francisco, CA. The chair was designed in 1955 and was an important inspiration for many McGuire's later designs. From an original owner's estate in San Francisco, CA. Arm height is 24.5 inches high
