Handsome late 19th century country French provincial writing table, library table, or desk that could also serve as a dining table. Beautifully crafted from walnut with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The case features storage drawers on each end and a small center drawer with lock plate and key. The top is supported by a trestle base having distinctive turned legs conjoined by an H shaped stretcher and ending with peg feet. The desk showcases the rich walnut woodgrains with a desirable aged patina on the finish. The top of the desk has an ogee edge and the piece is finished on all sides. Ample leg room measuring 23.5 inches from the floor to the apron.
