Distinctive set of six midcentury French dining chairs made in the grand Louis XVI taste. The chairs feature carved and painted frames in a lovely off-white color. The frames have oval or cameo backs conjoined to generous seats with a bowed front. The corners of the seats have carved rosettes on the apron in the neoclassical style. The seats are supported by elegant tapered, fluted legs ending with toupie feet. The chairs are upholstered with a festive fabric featuring a blue velvet lattice design with an oak leaf center in a contrasting light blue. The fabric has a beige ground and is bordered by patinated brass tack nail heads. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with solid joinery and a lovely aged patina on the painted finish. Sold as a set of six.
