Set of Eight Georgian Style Carved Mahogany Dining Chairs

Gorgeous set of eight hand-carved mahogany dining chairs crafted in the English Georgian or Thomas Chippendale taste. The set consists of six side chairs and two host armchairs measuring 26.5 inches wide. The chairs have a dramatic bow shaped crest with an intricately pierced splat of gracefully curved forms. The serpentine arms end with scrolls. The generous seats are upholstered with a neutral cream-toned naugahyde with patinated brass tack nailhead accents. The seats are supported by square reeded legs with H shaped stretchers in the Georgian taste. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with a handsome profile. The mahogany has a desirable aged patina on the finish commensurating age and use. Solid as a set of eight. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
