Extraordinary midcentury stainless steel and bronze writing table, desk, or bureau plat designed by John Vesey (American 1924-1992). Made in the grand neoclassical French Louis XVI taste featuring gilt bronze trim and an iconic profile. The desk is fronted by three storage drawers that open to reveal an impressive flame mahogany construction with a high gloss finish. The top of the case is fitted with a black leather inset having gilt borders. The table is supported by elegant fluted columns ending with square acanthus bronze feet.
