Dramatic 19th century English library table, writing table, or desk hand-crafted from oak. The table features a trestle style base with Greco-Roman corinthian columns in the neoclassical taste. The columns are supported by an H shaped stretcher ending with bun feet. The top has an inset leather writing surface with a protective glass pane fitted on top. The desk is fronted by three locking storage drawers with keys. The apron has a decorative gadrooned detail with acanthus leaves on the corners. Ample legroom measuring 24 inches from the floor to the apron. Very impressive piece with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The oak has a lovely aged patina on the finish. The desk is finished on all sides.
