An elegant 20th century Neoclassical French bronze metal cocktail or coffee table featuring a fine polished finish. Crafted in the neoclassical directoire taste in the manner and style of Maison Jansen. The stately table features a streamlined rectangular frame supported by legs terminating in small toupie feet. The slender legs are tapered and are unified by a sweeping, symmetrical gracefully curved stretcher creating a refined hourglass-like silhouette. The stretcher arms are conjoined in the middle by a contrasting openwork triple-rod, adding a subtle stringed instrument motif. The table is topped with a thick pane of glass that is partially inset into the frame. The framing around the glass is expertly fitted with exceptional craftsmanship. The frame is finished in a warm gilt metal to crisply contrast the glass. The open architectural design is understated with opulent finishes.
