Gorgeous Japanese Showa period four-panel folding byobu screen depicting autumn foliage. The painting features flowering chrysanthemum (kiku), pampas grass (obena), brush clover (hagi), and Chinese bell-flowers (kikkyo). The flowers are painted over a gilt square ground with gilt clouds in the foreground. Signed by artist on the right side with a seal and set in an ebonized black lacquer wood frame with a silk brocade border. Very good, well-preserved condition as seen in photos. From an estate in San Francisco, California.
