Painted in the Tosa school style with large opaque mountains and river landscape over a gold leaf background. Figures amid pagodas and trees with finely detailed faces and robes. The screen is set in an ebonized frame with a dramatic black silk border. Made on a grand scale. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
