Pair of George III Chinese Chippendale Style Lacquered Pagoda Armchairs


Fantastic pair of lacquered armchairs crafted in the George III Chinese chippendale taste by Weiman. The chairs feature a pagoda shaped crest rail and elaborate geometric open fretwork design on the back and sides. The generous seat has a newly upholstered seat cushion and arms measuring 26.5 inches high. The seat is supported by intricate faux bamboo legs with shaped spandrels in the Asian taste. The reeded wood frame has a rich marbled lacquer finish in a burl wood style with a gloss finish. Very solid and strong with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Sold as a pair from an estate in San Francisco, CA. Makers label on bottoms.
