California Day Tripping | Carmel

Carmel is about a 2 hour drive from the San Francisco Bay Area. Its great for adults & children with its beautiful coast lines, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and farms along the way.
Carmel is stunning any time of year but it was really showing off for us that day with all the fall colors, blue skies, and a perfect 70 degrees.
In its attempt to remain un-citified there are no chain restaurants or addresses in this town.
Another fun fact about Carmel: No high heels more than 2" unless you have a permit.
Don't you just love the architecture? Not only is Carmel known for its natural scenery & artistic history, it's dog friendly thanks to Doris Day. The mayor was once Clint Eastwood. How cool is that?
My favorite restaurant in Carmel is Casanova. If you like Rose' and a salmon omelette, homemade spinach gnocchi, or a croque monsieur this is the place for you. I love everything about Casanova because of its authenticity. The antique icons, the aged farm tables, and the european linens make this girl giddy.
Just a few blocks away from this idyllic town is the Pacific Ocean with its perfect white sand. Bring your dog, your camera, and stick your toes in the sand.
If you have the time don't forget to take the 17 mile drive through Pebble Beach and stop off at Roy's at The Inn at Spanish Bay for a glass of bubbly and an ahi tuna tartare tower. Cheers!
